(NEW) Single Receiver GPS Precise Positioning (NEW)

How would you like it if someone could step onto your airplane with a simple hand-held device and -- in less than 2 hours -- produce high precision, professional publishing quality takeoff and landing performance charts for your flight manual supplement or pilot operating handbook?

Here's how it can be done...

For the last decade, differential GPS has been the flight test standard for measuring takeoff and landing distances.  This is how the major aircraft manufacturers do it, but it has always been hampered by the requirement for setting up a base station at a known, surveyed position and installing complicated, expensive and sometimes unreliable telemetry equipment on your airplane.

Approved by the Airworthiness Authorities in 2004 for collecting aircraft position data for certification, we are now offering a low cost single receiver GPS package that is capable of achieving centimeter to decimeter accuracy in both horizontal and vertical position.

Applications include:

  • Takeoff performance
  • Landing performance
  • Braking performance
  • Vmcg runway centerline deviation
  • Ground and in-flight position error determination
  • RVSM

This solution completely eliminates the requirement for a base station and expensive post-processing software.

There is no telemetry requirement and test repeats due to telemetry dropouts are a thing of the past.

The system employs a receiver with data logging capability in one package with minimal equipment installation requirements -- so we can literally show up at your site, walk onto the airplane and begin testing immediately.

Ultra-low cost is achieved by utilizing the existing publicly available GPS infrastructure and open-source software.

And the best thing is -- we can do it for you OR show you how to do it yourself in the fastest time and at the least expense possible.

Engine & Propeller Conversions

Powerplant Changes

All you have to do, before initiating an engine or propeller change project on your airplane, is provide us with a copy of the current Airplane Flight Manual and the current and planned engine and propeller model numbers and we can provide you -- within a few days -- with a detailed estimate of the effect of the change on takeoff distance, climb performance, and FAR 36 Appendix G noise levels.

In less than 15 minutes over the phone, we can tell you what the flight testing requirements are to satisfy the airworthiness requirements for your individual program.

We have in-house experience with multiple powerplant and propeller conversion programs on both FAR 23 and FAR 25 airplanes.  Our capabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compliance program development
  • Certification flight test plan development
  • Flight test safety analysis and risk mitigation
  • Flight test instrumentation and data acquisition - including installation, calibration, and documentation requirements
  • Mathematical modeling and prediction of modified airplane performance
  • FAR 36 Appendix G noise level prediction - including determination of acoustical change
  • Flight envelope expansion
  • FAR 23 and FAR252 performance flight testing, data reduction, data expansion, and AFM performance chart publishing
  • Installed power and thrust determination
  • Air data system calibration spot checks and recalibrations
  • Flight characteristics spot checks
  • Minimum control speed determination
  • Powerplant operating procedures development
  • Powerplant operating characteristics evaluations
  • Reciprocating and turbine engine cooling testing & data analysis
  • Powerplant instrument calibrations
  • Cockpit layout evaluations
  • Hot fuel test planning and implementation
  • Water ingestion testing
  • Propeller vibration surveys
  • Reduced thrust (FLEX) takeoff procedure development and performance determination
  • Powerplant reversing systems evaluations
  • Producing AFM operating limitations information
  • Identifying the requirement for instrument markings and placards

Contact our friendly and helpful staff today to find out how we can help you expedite your powerplant conversion certification program -- and save you a whole bunch of time, money, and heartache on your next certification flight test program.
